After having to cancel the event in 2022 due to weather, we are excited to host this event again this year.
The annual event is a community favorite. Over 750 people attended this fun, family, event, in 2021.
The event includes a variety of activities.
A 3/4 mile hiking trail through the Arthur Sholts Memorial Woods and Prairie will be lit with tiki torches and luminaries.
A bonfire is located in the Sholts picnic area. Limited snacks and beverages are available at no cost.
The event is co-sponsored with the Oregon Area Wellness Coalition. We partner with local organizations as well. The local boy and girl scout troops provide volunteer help with set-up and clean-up. Sponsorships are available to local businesses.
Get outside and meet your neighbors.
Join Us! Help Dane County Park's Department (DCP) natural areas staff and APF volunteers continue restoration work at Anderson Farm County Park’s forests and prairies.
Work is seasonal and dependent on the weather and conditions. From November through March we work on forest restoration activities. Activities from April through October include the food pantry garden, forest restoration, and native/flower beds.
Any inclement weather decisions are made at the park (914 Union Road), just before the start time. Dress for the weather and wet/dry conditions.
APF will provide orientations and all equipment.
Native plants and restored forests promote biodiversity and stewardship of our natural heritage.
