I would like to extend an invitation to you for the next volunteer opportunity at Anderson Farm County Park. The focus of this work day will be on trail development and buckthorn removal.
The trail that leads between the larger maple grove and the main trail needs some maintenance. Work will be done cleaning up the trail and also making it easier to locate while in the maple grove. If time allows, buckthorn will be removed from the side of the trails and in the maple grove. Volunteers will also be needed to trim/cut tree branches and clear the trail, and to cut buckthorn and pile it up. Loppers and hand saws will be available for use. We will start work at 5:30 pm and work for a couple of hours.
We will meet in the temporary parking lot located off of 914 Union Road in the south west corner of the woodlot. We will have Anderson Park Friends (APF) members there to greet you and provide some orientation. Dress for the weather, bring safety glasses and any hand saws, loppers, or shears. If you do not have any tools, do not worry, APF has tools that are available for use. A Port a Potty is available for use as well.
