The sixth annual APF Chainsaw Day is a major forest restoration work event in the Arthur Sholts Memorial Forest. Teams of sawyers and brush/log haulers remove invasive trees and bushes like buckthorn, female box elder, and honeysuckle/multiflora rose bushes. Sawyers must have a federal or Dane County Parks certification and required safety equipment. Training is available each spring to certify sawyers. Sandwiches, snacks, and hot beverages are provided.
The Arthur Sholts Memorial Forest project is in its sixth year of a nine-year project.
