Birdwatching @ Anderson Farm County Park

It’s no secret that spending time in nature is good for your mind. Studies show that even a stroll through a city park decreases stress, sharpens concentration and improves long-term mental health outcomes.

You can get these park benefits at Anderson Farm County Park. Want to get more benefits? Join the APF Birdwatching event in the Arthur Sholts Memorial Forest and Prairie. This special event is held when there is limited foilage on the trees. Bring your binoculars. Don't have any? No problem. Binoculars will be provided upon request. Registration is limited to 15 people. Register today.

Session to be led by Melissa Kesling, APF member. She has extensive prior experience guiding birdwatching tours for the Aldo Leopold Center, Monona WI.

Added Note" A few studies suggest there might be something especially healthy about birds in particular. One, published in October, 2022 found that just being near bird song improved mental well-being. New Y ork Times article, 12/12/2022.
