Join us in the pantry garden. Your help is needed. Mark your calendar and R.S.V.P. today via our calendar for a 2-hour shift. Volunteers can also work on their own schedule separate from group events.
Garden Update: We are now in a phase of harvesting vegetables, watering, and light weeding. This is a crucial stage as vegetables need weed-free space and need to be harvested on a specific timetable. Our goal is to provide fresh, not rotten vegetables to the three pantries we support-Oregon, Belleville, and Verona.
With enough volunteers, we can expand into a second season crop of cool weather vegetables. Last year’s crop was a tremendous success.
Work is seasonal and dependent on the weather and conditions. The garden will close for the season around November 1st.
APF will provide orientations and all equipment. Feel free to bring your own equipment.
Any inclement weather decisions are made at the garden (805 Union Road), just before the start time. Dress for the weather and wet/dry conditions. Leather shoes and gloves are recommended.
