Anderson Park Friends and the Madison Astronomical Society (MAS) will co-sponsor a star gazing event. MAS will send volunteers with telescopes and assist participants with the telescopes. They will show people the sky through an eyepiece and possibly on a screen.
🔠Volunteers from the Madison Astronomical Society will bring telescopes and guide you on a tour of the night sky. See planets, constellations, and a nova or two. Maybe even a shooting star! Ask questions, peek through an eyepiece, or watch the sky on a screen—it’s all free and open to everyone.
There will be a brief tour of the sky. MAS volunteers are always happy to answer questions. The event will depend on the weather and condition of the sky (clouds). There is not back up date. The event will be confirmed by 3 p.m. that day; check the Anderson Park Friends Facebook page for updates. (Better yet, follow us on Facebook) All are welcome.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and conditions. Handicap accessible facilities are available, including a vault toilet.
🌠Important: The event depends on clear skies. We’ll confirm by 3 p.m. that day. Dress for the weather and bring your sense of wonder!
